Ragi Upma


Ingredients:


  • 1cup Ragi Flour ( Red millet)
  • 1/2 cup semolina( Rava )
  • 2tsp Olive oil
  • 1tsp Mustard Seeds
  • 1pinch Asafoetida
  • 3-4 Curry Leaves finely chopped
  • 2-3 Green Chilli Finely Chopped
  • 1 medium Onion Finely chopped
  • 1/2 Cup Carrot Grated
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/4 cup coriander finely chopped
  • Hot Water 4cups or as required 

Method:


  1. Dry roast ragi flour n semolina in a broad non-stick pan on medium flame for 3-4mins or until light brown in colour, while stirring continuously. Keep aside.
  2. Heat oil in a deep pan, when hot add Mustard seeds, when crackle add asafoetida, curry leaves, green chilli n onions and sauté on medium flame for 1min.
  3. Now add grated Carrots n sauté for 1 more min.
  4. Add roasted ragi n rava n salt n sauté on medium flame for 1 to 2 mins.
  5. Now add hot water n cook on sloe flame until water evaporates, while stirring continuously.
  6. Add chopped coriander, mix well n cover n keep aside for 2 to 3 mins.
  7. Serve hot immediately.
